It's that time of the year again, the storm before the calm.

Parents are rushing to get the latest anime craze toys for their brainwashed children, families are preparing for their holidays, kids are counting the sleepless nights until Christmas day, workers are desperately applying for leave and a whole lot of teenagers are saying farewell to school with a series of exams.

Some students are stressing, some are ready to wow their parents, others want to get it over and done with and the rest are shaking in their boots.

The problem with the system is great for the students, but terrible for mankind. They call it standardizing.

It goes like this:

Students worked hard, Teachers worked hard, students got high scores.

Teachers eased off, students eased off, students got lower scores.

The solution? Simple... get the teachers to work harder and get more students to pass....right? WRONG. Of course not, that would be much to obvious. No, instead, lets make the standard for the subject lower. Problem solved, we have more students passing!

Yes, problem solved, but another created. Basically, you've turned today's garbagemen into tomorrows neurosurgeons. Tell me. do you want a heart bypass performed on you by some git who used the word "brang" on his final English exam? I doubt it.

It starts off with the law, disorientated children are given too much power, now, I hate to bring race into this, but have you noticed how many Asians, Indians and such get huge marks? It's not a magic fruit...its because their parents belt their a** when they screw up. Today's children are untouchable, they have too many rights which means they can do what they like, and we can't do jack all about it.

I don't really care if we have a shortage of doctors, I just want them to know what they are doing, rather have 1 doctor who knows what he is doing, than 10 who search Google for what sickness you have.

Hope you enjoyed reading my view as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please post your opinions.

it's not just teachers it is also parents...some parents give up too easily it's called discipline they don't need to physically hurt the children they can ground them or take away their gaming console until they get better grades and they need to push them to do better for school and as for myself i push myself to do better in school because i want to have a good job and be able to have a good life wink.gif

I do think students these days are not as "smart" as students decades ago. Students have way more freedom these days, they know no one can do anything to them, and they just roll along in life. So they dont take school seriously, thus dont learn anything.

I would like to see some of these smartass kids back in the 50's or something. We'll see how you are after a few hits off the teacher.

Well said la_faker. That is true, older people were smarter, Presidents like George Bush, such a low employment rate, so many children dropping out of school and our enormous dependency on technology.

That being said, there are still hard working teachers and students who deserve every mark they get, and I hope we see more of them.

Nicely said all of you guys, I agree with many things from all of your posts.

Bomb: I like your view on how students should have a little less freedom to do better in school.
lilsnoopy: I like your view on how parents should give a bit more discipline and how students should be able to self start themselves like you.
la_faker_81: I agree with the fact that us students are not as "smart" as older people were.
DarK: I agree with how us students work is all done with the help of technology.

Personally I think that everyone should fix up their act so that means teachers, parents, AND students. Teachers just don't do anything anymore to get the students to work hard enough so they should start going back to the detention method because that in my opinion that worked the best. Parents don't force their kid(s) to do well in school and are just busy with their own lives so they need to take some time out and get their kid(s) back on the right track. Last but not least students need to stop fooling around so much and start working a little bit harder.

Thanks for the insight on your views guys, and also the support. Yes, not everyone gets total freedom, but the people who don't tend to do better off later on. A majority of the rest turn into drug addicts and the like.

It seems the first admin blog has sparked some interest. This one has closed, it's about time for the next one smile.gif
